The five groups

Customer conditions need a signed-in customer
Guests have no customer record, so conditions like Customer tag or Customer is logged in cannot pass for them. Most shoppers check out as guests.
- Cart subtotal vs cart total — subtotal is the items alone; total includes what Shopify adds on top, such as shipping. For “above 500” rules, subtotal is usually right.
- Shipping country vs customer country — shipping country is where this order is going. Use it for anything delivery-related.
- Product conditions match if any item in the cart qualifies, not only when every item does.
Condition sets
Each rule draws its conditions from one set — General Rules, Product-Based Rules or Advanced & Custom Rules. If the condition you want is missing, switch the set before adding conditions. See condition sets.
